Why a single game

Most social casinos grow sideways. They add another reel, another wheel, another limited-time room, until the lobby resembles a bazaar where nothing is allowed to be finished. We went the other way. Ancient Hockey has one table, and every hour spent on the project went into making that table feel deliberate: the weight of a card landing, the pause before the Keeper’s hidden card turns, the plain arithmetic of a fair payout.

Blackjack earned its place because it asks something of the player. A good decision on a soft seventeen feels different from a lucky one, and a game that respects that difference is more satisfying to return to than one that merely flashes.

The chamber and its Keeper

The visual world of the site draws on the treasure chambers of ancient Egypt — sand-gold walls, lapis-blue linework, the scarab that ancient artisans carved as a sign of renewal each morning. It seemed a fitting emblem for a game in which every hand is a fresh start. The Keeper, who deals every card, is simply our name for the house hand: a patient guardian bound by one unchanging rule.

What we promise

No purchases, now or later. Our coins are counters for keeping score, handed out freely and never sold, and they cannot be redeemed for money or anything else. There are no prizes, no leaderboards tied to rewards, and no advertising that pressures you to play longer. The game runs entirely in your browser, which is also why your balance resets when you reload the page.
